TeraMedica UnivisionEVLeading VNA Vendor Extends Image Viewing with New Univision EV

(February 11, 2014 – MILWAUKEE, WI)  Enhancing its flagship Evercore vendor neutral archive (VNA), TeraMedica introduces at HIMSS 2014 Univision EV, a universal image viewer with an advanced toolset that enables full-resolution visualization of a full range of DICOM and non-DICOM images anywhere, anytime on any device.

New Univision EV is a browser-based, zero-footprint viewer supporting display of all standard image formats for any modality and department in native format.

It offers an advanced image manipulation toolset that includes sophisticated 3D reformatting, multi-cine, side-by-side comparison and more.

The new offering complements TeraMedica’s existing Univision reference-quality viewer to deliver a more versatile and robust option for specific use cases.

“New Univision EV provides medical specialists who need access to full fidelity images hospital-wide and beyond with an easy-to-deploy and use solution with a consistent user interface across all image types and devices.  This includes PCs and Macs, smart phones and tablets,” says Jim Prekop, TeraMedica CEO.

Images may be viewed directly from the Evercore VNA as well as any EMR.

The zero-footprint technology renders from a single location, providing streamlined off-site image viewing for expert consults and second opinions.”

Prekop also notes that for sites in the process of migrating data to an Evercore archive, the new viewer will provide universal enterprise access to images siloed in individual department archives before they are moved.

Taking advantage of today’s leading edge technology, Univision EV utilizes fast server-side rendering and is VM-ware and Citrix ready.

It is compatible with all standard web browsers and is scalable to support the entire user base across the enterprise.

“With Univision EV, customers can implement a robust diagnostic quality viewer tightly integrated with a leading edge VNA through a single vendor,” says Prekop.

“The new offering was developed in response to customer requests and meets their full range of needs.”
