MedCurrent Corporation in Los Angeles announced that launch of its new radiology decision support solution, OrderRight, which was designed to help health imaging facilities and referring physicians.
The new system supports automated payer pre-authorization, with a rules-based system that is including appropriateness criteria of the American College or Radiology. OrderRight also has a proprietary Rule Authoring Studio, which provides administrators with a customizable rule control. Moreover, OrderRight was developed to work either alone or in addition to other applications such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Radiology Information System (RIS).
Stephen Herman, MedCurrent president, MD, associate professor of radiology at the University of Toronto, said “This medical appropriateness decision support solution instantaneously provides physicians the information required by payers to optimize provider reimbursement, dramatically improving practice efficiency, while completely eliminating a payer’s cost of unnecessary authorization denials and appeals.”
